Dr Vivek Jason Jayaraj

Dr Vivek Jason Jayaraj, MD, MPH, DrPH, is a public health physician and Deputy Director (Analytics & Informatics) at the Digital Health Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia. His work spans national digital health strategy and governance, electronic medical records, health information exchange, interoperability, clinical terminology, health data platforms, analytics and the responsible use of AI. He contributes to national initiatives involving HL7 FHIR, OMOP, terminology services, radiology image exchange and population-health solutions, with a focus on making health data usable across care delivery, public health and research. He previously worked in biostatistics and national health data repositories and has experience in epidemiology, advanced analytics, R, Python and health systems research. His recent publications include work on AI readiness in Southeast Asia, COVID-19 vaccination strategies and real-world vaccine effectiveness in Malaysia.
