Ir. Wan Murdani bin Wan Mohamad, Vice President of Digital Adoption Division, Malaysia Digital Economy Corpos (MDEC)

Wan Murdani has accumulated more than 25 years of professional experience in corporate and economic development environment, where he started his career at Renong-UEM Group and spent most of his stint in the Group with Time dotCom Berhad, one of the Malaysia’s first digital fibre optic telecommunication network and services providers. His primary roles at Time dotCom included network engineering, business development, international partnership, and project management, where he was also involved in national strategic projects, amongst others, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Projek Usahasama Transit Ringan Automatik (PUTRA LRT) and Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (LINKEDUA). He then joined Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), which he has successfully undertaken several strategic roles in the areas of policy planning, infrastructure rollout, digital industry development, investment facilitation, funding ecosystem and market access. Currently, Wan Murdani is the Vice President of Digital Adoption Division at MDEC, primarily overseeing the digital talent, digital entrepreneurship, digital infrastructure, regulatory facilitation and catalyzing digitalization with focus on digital trade, SMEs, digital agriculture tech, syariah tech and national e-invoicing. He leads a dynamic team in engaging, collaborating, and partnering with targeted economic sector leads, digital industry players, talent builders, infrastructure operators, regulators, targeted communities, and policy planners to ensure the impact and alignment of programmes and initiatives to the aspirational goals of digital economy. Wan Murdani was nominated and elected by the country members of Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT), a joint initiative by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), to represent the Government of Malaysia, under the then Ministry of Energy, Communications and Multimedia, as a Chairman of Study Group for two terms from 2002 to 2007, where he successfully led the multi-countries dialogues and deliberations on ICT users adoption. When the Economic Transformation Program (ETP) was launched by the Government in 2010 to transition Malaysia into a high-income nation, he was appointed as a Lead for one of the Entry Point Projects (EPP) under the Business Services National Key Action Area: Positioning Malaysia as a Data Centre Hub. Under his leadership for this EPP from 2010 to 2015, with support from stakeholders, industry players and investors, the data centre industry market size grew more than 20 percent annually. Wan Murdani currently serves as a Member of Kelantan State ICT Council, Penang Smart State Steering Committee and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Industry Advisory Panel, providing advice, strategic view and domain expertise in the areas related to digital economy. He graduated with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla, USA and holds Master of Business Administration (Management). He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

Ir. Ts. Ahmad Afizul Haq bin Abdul Razak enables boards and executive leadership to make legally defensible decisions in high-risk, regulated industrial environments.

With nearly 20 years of experience in statutory inspection, enforcement, and major hazard governance, he has led regulatory assurance across CIMAH-regulated facilities, pressure systems, and industrial machinery in Malaysia’s high-risk sectors. His work strengthens organisational control, reduces enforcement exposure, and ensures operational decisions withstand legal, technical, and regulatory scrutiny.

He operates at the intersection of regulatory authority, industrial risk, and governance assurance, translating complex safety and compliance obligations into clear, defensible decision frameworks for leadership teams.

He is actively engaged in national OSH and technical ecosystems through MSEIG, MySET, MBOT, GITC, and serves as Industry Advisor for the Master of Process Safety programme at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), contributing to policy development, competency frameworks, and advancement of process safety governance in Malaysia.

He is positioned as a regulatory and safety governance professional focused on strengthening industrial resilience, legal compliance integrity, and major hazard risk control at both operational and strategic levels.

Ts. Mohd Rizal Haji Atan is a technology and digital transformation professional with over a decade of experience spanning IT, business transformation, digital solutions and strategic technology initiatives. He currently serves as Head of Department – IT & Digital Transformation at MBI Selangor, where he plays a key role in driving technology-led transformation and advancing digital initiatives across the organisation.

With expertise in digital transformation, business process re-engineering, project management and emerging technologies, Rizal brings a strong blend of technical knowledge and strategic leadership. His work involves supporting future-ready digital infrastructure, platforms and solutions aligned with broader organisational and state-level digital transformation objectives.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he contributes to the education and technology ecosystem through advisory and technical roles with academic and vocational institutions. He is also a Co-Founder and Trustee of Kindness Malaysia, reflecting his commitment to community development and social impact.

My engineering foundation at First Solar and Finisar strengthened my expertise in analytics and process optimisation, where I built global data hubs that improved yields by up to 25% and generated multi-million-ringgit efficiencies. I was honoured with the Inclusion Impact Award from Women in Aviation in 2024 for advancing digital and sustainability initiatives.

A frequent speaker at local and international conferences, I advocate for practical, human-centred adoption of AI and digital technologies. I continue to shape future digital talent through applied teaching and industry collaboration.

Budiman Bujang is the Deputy Chief Digital Officer of Johor Corporation, where he leads strategic digital transformation, enterprise AI adoption, digital governance, and the development of AI-first capabilities across the Group. His work focuses on translating emerging technologies into practical enterprise value, particularly through AI-powered platforms, intelligent dashboards, agentic workflows, data-driven decision-making, and the JCORP Command Centre.

Yusfarizal is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with over 24 years of experience in information security, systems, and network architecture, serving across diversified enterprise and service provider environments. He combines deep technical expertise with proven leadership and strategic management capabilities, making him a trusted authority in the field.

Throughout his career, Ts. Yusfarizal has led high-impact cybersecurity programs, overseeing end-to-end security planning, architecture, and operations. His leadership has been instrumental in building and guiding cross-functional teams, driving security transformation initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organizational risk and compliance objectives.

In addition to his technical proficiency in security engineering, incident response, and infrastructure hardening, Ts. Mr. Izham Khairuddin is a technology, cybersecurity and digital transformation professional with over 30 years of experience spanning government, industry and international development. He has held senior roles across organisations including CyberSecurity Malaysia, MIGHT and the Commonwealth Partnership for Technology Management. He currently serves as Head of Transformation at CyberSecurity Malaysia, where he leads strategic initiatives focused on organisational transformation and Malaysia’s national digital trust agenda. He also led the development of the National Digital Trust Strategy 2026–2030. With extensive expertise in cybersecurity, digital trust, public policy and international cooperation, Izham is passionate about building resilient, secure and trusted digital ecosystems.

I have 30- odd years of experience in academia and industry, including being a Research Fellow at the United Nations University. I wear two hats: the researcher hat as a Professor (Digital Transformation)at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Current research is on the public sector AI Governance, strategic digital leadership and digital transformation. I was the former Dean of the faculty, holding the administration post from January 2023 to December 2025.

Previous consultancy projects with the Malaysian public sector ranged from Enterprise Architecture implementation and adoption, eProcurement Systems Modernisation, and Data Integration and Sharing.

Suresh Ponnudurai is a Malaysian national residing in Malaysia. He is the founder of Tropical Flow Sdn. Bhd., a private limited company in Malaysia that provides an end-to-end solution for clients globally who want quality health care at worldclass facilities in Malaysia.

Until 2003 Suresh has been working several years in the US and returned to Malaysia and is now a consultant in the area of print and packaging having worked for multinationals such as Dupont and Akzo Nobel within the region. He remains in the print and manufacturing industry as a consultant however his primary passion is in health since 2003 having started his business in the domain of health tourism.
